Medford Is On Fire...Literally It's 107 degrees!

So after I left you all last Monday sister Alldredge and I went to
meet J. He self refereed him and his family so that the could
learn more about the path they should be on. It took us a while to
find their house, but when we did as we were walking up to their door
we saw a car pulling up and this man and his two kids get out and he
says "oh that's us." And then he realizes who we are and says "oh I
called you last Friday." And he opens the door and his family walks in
and they leave the door open, so naturally sister Alldredge and I walk
right in! They gave us some water and told us to sit down. And we sat
and sister Alldredge and I were just sitting there and not knowing
what to do because people just don't let us in like that! We talked to
them and got to know them and the daughters name is JC and the
youngest son is R. we stared to teach the restored gospel of Jesus
Christ. And we taught the entire lesson! It was so cool. They don't
have much knowledge about Jesus or anything regarding to the gospel
and so it was amazing to help them gain more knowledge of him. When we
taught about the atonement we went in depth with it and taught that
Jesus Christ suffered everything that we go through every day whether
it is big or small. After we finished J said said "that was
powerful" and it is! They are looking for something more and we have
that something they are looking for! We gave them a Book of Mormon and
we met again with them on Thursday and they read the book! They seemed
to like it so far and also after we taught them the plan of salvation
they wanted to be baptized! I'm so excited for them to get on the path
that God has for them.

It was a super hot weekend. It got up to 111 degrees on Saturday and
we were out all day! We met a guy named S and when we asked him
how Jesus has blessed his life he started to cry, but then he said
goodbye and walked away. The effects that Jesus has on people! No
matter who you are he has done something to bless your life.

Tuesday was a little bit rough. We had a lesson with someone who has a
really strong testimony and there was something that he read that made
him question a lot about who God is, and sometimes when people
question it's hard for us to stay so strong within our own
testimonies, so sister Alldredge and I together read and prayed to get
help from our father in heaven. And we rediscovered who Jesus Christ
is. He is my savior and I know that he and my Heavenly Father would
never lead the wrong way, so I know this is true because when God had
the chance to lead me back on the right path he lead me here. And I am
here to stay! But I know that sometimes we doubt, but the spirit will
always lead us back on the right path and confirm in our hearts the
truth that God wants us to know.

My favorite quote is from president Hinckley. He said "when life gets
too hard to stand, kneel."  Remember that when things get tough or you
begin to doubt you can always go to God for help. He will help lift
you up. He does for me every day and I know he has for everyone. We
are his children and he loves us.

I hope that you have a fantastic week! I love you all!

Love,
Sister Peterson
