Ready, Set, Tract!

What a ride this week has been! Buckle up and keep your hands and feet inside to get ready for this adventure because it'll be bumpy!

We had a lesson with a woman named T. on Tuesday! She read the chapter we gave her which was ether 12 and she loved it! She explained to us all of the difficulties that have happened in her life, but how Christ has been there through it all. We taught her about how the church was restored and really focused on the atonement when we taught her about the time when Christ was on the earth. The spirit really worked through us to say the right things and I remember feeling so confident and happy as I shared the message because I know the spirit was the truth teacher and putting all the right words in to my mouth. Terrie used to meet with missionaries a while ago and had a hard time giving up smoking, but since she's been working on quitting she is ready to make a commitment to be baptized. We invited her and she said yes! She really wants to work towards baptism and she was really excited to read more from the Book of Mormon!

We had a lesson with J. on Friday and we planned to talk about scripture study and prayer and instead we ended up talking about temples because he had a couple questions. It went pretty well. He brought up how he wasn't sure if he was ready for baptism on the 28 so we are still teaching him and helping him to gain a stronger testimony so he can be fully en he is baptized! He came to church on Sunday and has really been also been going to institute which is basically a study group for young single adults. We explained that as long as he is continuing to learn and has a desire to know the truth that he will find it.

Saturday we tried to drop someone we were teaching but they just aren't committed or really have a desire to learn, and so we told them we wouldn't be coming by but they can call us if they ever needed anything, and they were really happy about that and told us how much they love our visits, and as we were leaving she said " ok see you next week!" We might have to try that one again.

Sister Hernaez and I did a lot of tracting this week and for some ready whenever we met someone I would say "Hi I'm sister Peterson!" And they would say "not Interested" so the conclusion I've come to is  they just don't like Petersons! We did lots of service and pet many cats so that made up for it!

I was reading in ether chapter 2 this morning and it's the story of the brother J.  Really like the part when the lord is telling him that he will prepare a way for them to get to this promised land because that's where he needed them to be. When we do gods will he will always prepare a way for us! I was reading in my old journals from the beginning of my mission and at the end of every day I would say something like " I don't know, but I do know that I will follow gods plan for me" haha luckily I did follow his plan because it led me here! And I know his plans are better than mine and he will help me! I'm grateful for the love that my Heavenly Father shows me and I know he will help me accomplish anything he needs me to do.

Love,
Sister Peterson
