School Is Back In Session

Spring break is finally over and the traffic is flowing again on campus and in the streets! Sunday was so warm and there were so many people outside that it made for a perfect day. We even found this really cool guy to teach!

Tuesday and Wednesday we were on exchanges with the cottage grove sisters. I was with sister McDonald who just came out a couple weeks ago! We taught some of the people they are working with and there was a cool theme of prayer. We met with a cute old couple names C&P. They are preparing for baptism and P talked to us about he last time that he prayed and how he can only pray in this specific spot where he can be alone. We read Alma 34:18-27 and it talks about how we must pray wherever we are and for everything.
I also went tracting in neighborhoods again! It was amazing :) we met this woman who told us she wasn't interested, but we introduced the Book of Mormon to her and now she wants the sister to come back and teach her more about it! That is one powerful book.

The prince of peace video came out on Friday and its AMAZING!! We've been showing to to everyone we see and what I love it that it shows how Christ can give us peace. We were talking to someone the other day and they said so,etching about how they needed peace in life, and when we showed them this video it perfectly related to Christ being able to give them peace as they put their faith and trust in him. I'm so excited for everyone to watch this video and share it!

Conference was the BEST!!! I was looking forward to it all week and a lot of my concerns and questions were answered and calmed while I watched. Saturday we watched it at the church and I love that the first session was all about the plan of salvation and how god has this perfect plan for us. He has a plan where we can succeed if we chose to.
One theme that I picked up from Saturday was that no matter what goes on in our lives we can be calmed through understanding Christ and his gospel. Wow I am so grateful to know what I know because there have been so many times in my life when there could've been no hope, but I have always felt a sense of peace in knowing that everything that happens is in gods hands.

Sunday morning session of conference we watched with S. and her mom S! We met them the other week and S's grandma is a member, but they are not. They both really enjoyed it and since S. has a baby she noticed that a lot of what they talked about was teaching our children through out their whole life. I love that the talks can relate to EVERYONE. Because they are for everyone. They want to meet with the missionaries in the family ward to learn more!
P and L finally came back from break and we watched the second session of general conference with them! I am so grateful for the testimony of our prophet. I believe the words that he spoke this last conference and the testimony he has of reading the Book of Mormon to strengthen our testimonies in Christ.

All week we've been trying to get a hold of this girl that the elders found for us to teach. And Sunday night we tried for the third time, and third times a charm because she opened her door!! We talked for a minute and got to know her and then she asked if we wanted to come inside to teach her! Here's the good part. She had two cats and a Pomeranian! They were so cute although the dog didn't like us at first but after MANY dog treats she finally curled up near us. This girls name is KC and she is 19. She doesn't have much background knowledge of Jesus Christ or God, but the elders left her with the Book of Mormon. She read the intro but didn't remember much, but we taught her the restoration and really focuses on the nature of God and Jesus and she said that she felt peaceful after we showed her the because of him video and talked about how much love he has for her! I love helping people know that they are never alone and that Christ it the one who understand them. At the end of the lesson we invited her to be baptized when she came to know that this is true and she said yes! We are meeting with her again this week!

I'm excited to get on campus this week and talk to everyone! I love you all! Have the best week :)

Love,
Sister Peterson
