Party In Rogue River!

This past week was pretty great! We had a lesson with M.H.
who got baptized over a month ago and he showed up with a kitten, so
naturally I got to teach a lesson on who Heavenly Father is while
holding a sleeping kitten on my lap! Just another tender mercy!

Sister Dobbs and I taught at our zone training meeting last Friday. We
taught a lesson on who Heavenly Father is and also repentance. We went
around Thursday and video taped people asking them two questions. 1.
Who are you 2. Who is God? We got a lot of good stuff and met so many
different people. It was really cool to be able to see other peoples
definitions of who God is. So many people had different ideas and
after they shared who they believe God is we taught them what we
believe. We explained that we need to have a personal relationship
with our Heavenly Father to be able to teach others about his plan for
them. It's really amazing to see how everything fits together. When we
pray we can have that personal relationship with God. He is always
there for us and we can rely on him for anything. I know he answers
our prayers in him timing. We also taught about repentance which is so
important to feel the spirit. We talked a lot about practicing what
you preach because if we are teaching about having a relationship with
God and repenting then we need to have our own testimony of those
things.

We went on exchanges and I went to the riverside area with sister
Simmons. We went to a parade, but didn't watch it. We went to talk to
everyone and we saw big foot! He was in the parade riding on a float,
and then I met his mom who makes good burritos. We met a guy named
Adam who just moved his family to rogue river a couple months ago. He
was really nice and wants us to come and teach his family! He said
that everything we taught him about the restoration was really
interesting and he seemed to agree with Joseph smith and we talked a
lot about when Jesus was on the earth and his ministry. It was just
really good to meet someone so nice!

We got in contact with C who sister Sowter and I found while trying
to contact someone else. He was really nice and played some bass
guitar for us. He's in a Christian Rock band and invited us to his
church sometime to watch his band, and we were like maybe after our
missions! We taught him about the restoration of Christ's true church
and were able to help him better understand what we believe.

We went to a fireside on Sunday and a man who discovered where he
believed Lehis Trail was talked to us. He told us that the trail was
in Saudi Arabia near the Red Sea and they have so much to prove it was
really cool.

I've noticed recently that when I talk to people I need to be more
confident in what I am testifying of. I know that this is the true
Gospel of Jesus Christ and I am so lucky to be a part of this amazing
church. I'm so grateful to be out on a mission and to have this
experience. I love seeing so many people grow and become who God
intended them to be. This is the best possible thing I could be doing
right now and I wouldn't trade this for anything. I know Heavenly
Father loves me and is watching out for all of you back home. He knows
you by name and he knows the best ways to help you, so don't hesitate
to turn to him and ask for help. I love you all and hope you have a
great week!

Love,
Sister Peterson

P.s. Happy birthday to my wonderful dad who taught me so much and
helped to raise me in this amazing gospel. He is an inspiration and a
role model. Thanks for everything dad!
