Tuesday was an amazing day because 1. It was sister Alldredges
birthday and 2. We got Spanish sister missionaries in our zone!!
Sister Hart has been out for almost a year and now she is learning
Spanish and the sister Santiago is from Mexico! President Russell
called us and asked us to help her teach the lessons in English. So
every day this past week we've been having language studies with her
and the Spanish elders are helping sister Hart. They are so good and I
can't believe how quick they are leaning!
We were driving to a lesson with L and G when J
called us to reschedule his lesson, but sadly that's not what the call
was about. J called to tell us he didn't want to meet with us
anymore and that was it. It was really heartbreaking, but we had to
pull it together for L and G, but when we got there they told
us that our Faith's are too different and that we can still be friends
just not talk about religion. So that was two low blows in 10 minutes!
It was really hard, but the only way to get through is to keep
working. We knocked on this mans door who the elders found in our area
when we had a tracting blitz. This woman opened the door and we got to
talking with her about the Book of Mormon and found out she is this
mans wife. Yay and they are having a baby! She told us we could come
back to teach them and that was the miracle that came from all of the
bad.
Friday night we got transfer calls while we were in the middle of
talking to someone named Timothy, so we didn't answer but then when we
got home we called them back and they didn't answer. So we had to wait
30 minutes until they called and told us we were the last ones to find
out their news. Are you ready? President Russell told Sister Alldredge
that she was staying here in Medford! So that means I was leaving. And
he asked for me and said I want to send you to Coos bay to open and
area and also train! I was in shock too. So now I am on my way to the
coast and training so,e amazing sister that I cannot wait to meet!
Wish me luck cause I'll need it! I was just on a van for 3 hours to
Eugene and I'm spending the next 3 days with sister Gregory and then
Thursday I get my girl! So excited!
Saturday we had a lesson with the D & T and when we got there T
was really sad about the news that I was leaving, but really happy
that Sister Alldredge is staying! She wrote us both cards thanking us
for being in her life. She told us that she knows God sent us to her
for this reason. Then we were all talking and she goes "you'll have to
find a way to come back for me baptism" and we all carried on with our
conversation, and then it hit us. D said "you didn't even catch
what she said!" Then we all freaked out because she said she was ready
to get baptized!!!!! They set a date for November 5. And we also cried
because I won't be there, but I felt so much joy because I know that
they studied long and hard to be able to experience this. They gained
the truth because they wanted to find something! T and D are
getting baptized. We taught them about temples and what goes on in
them. When we taught them about baptisms for the dead they were both
so excited that D went off about everyone he wants to do the work
for in his family. Then we talked about being sealed for all eternity.
And They were so happy to know that they could be together forever. It
was amazing to hear them say that they will be sealed one day. I love
them and miss them so much!
Something that was focused on a lot this week was being an example and
sharing the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. The
women's conference on Saturday night shared messages of this and
helped many people in our ward want to do the best that they could be.
It was an amazing message and motivates me to work to the end
I love you all! Work hard play hard!
Love,
Sister Peterson
