It's transfer week and we got some news on Saturday. I'm staying in the ysa and I'm going to be companions with sister Wilson. I've heard great things about her! And sister Udall is going to central point. So way down south. I'm excited for what's to come and this transfer will be seven weeks.I can't remember what night it was, but one night it was almost 9 and we were walking from campus to our car, and we were passing this guy and felt like we needed to talk to him, so we did the usual and called out hi to him, and he stopped and he told us that he's a member but he hasn't been to church in a long time because he moves so much and he could never find a church building. But he met with us twice last week and he's so great! His name is R and he's hilarious. He's starting to read the Book of Mormon again and he's super excited! It was just so amazing because he told us that right before we met he prayed to find a way to come back to church and then we met him!! Miracles happen every day.We met with J on Wednesday and she told us that she feels like God is preparing her for baptism! She went home this weekend to talk to her dad. We've been praying so hard for her to have the strength.
We had a lesson with KC that night and we read the introduction of the Book of Mormon with her, and the spirit was there to testify to her that she needs to read and pray and come to know the truth so that she can gain that relationship with god and be able to find that joy in her life. We invited her to be baptized on May 21 and she said she would work towards that day. She also committed to read and pray every day. She's amazing and really wants to find the truth!Thursday we had a lesson with a guy named Joh. that we met on campus a couple weeks ago. He's amazing! He was able to read the pamphlet we gave him and he understood it and was able to have a good discussion with us as we taught him about the restoration. We talked about the god head and he said that it made more sense than what he's learned growing up and we invited him to pray about it. We also talked about the priesthood and brought up baptism so many times! So at the end of our lesson when we gave him a Book of Mormon he was really excited to read it, and then we invited him to be baptized and follow the example of Jesus Christ and he said he would be when he read the Book of Mormon and came to know it's true. He's so great and he has a really choice spirit. There's something really special about Joh. and I'm excited to keep teaching him!
We met with KC at night and she told us she prayed out loud on her own which is something she hasn't done before. It was so amazing to hear!!On Friday we went to Portland to do baptisms for the dead with L. and A. They both brought family names too! It was such an amazing experience and opportunity to see them do work for their ancestors! They are all doing so well. P and S are also doing super well and they were all three for Easter Sunday.Easter Sunday was so good! Sacrament meeting was so spirit-filled. N was able to make it to church and all of our girls were there too! Everyone talked of our savior all day in every class and we were able to reflect and remember Him. He's the one who paid it all for us, and I'm so grateful that we get to celebrate Him every day. I'm also grateful for Jesus Christ and the acts Of love that He did for me and for all of us. Because of him we can have the hope that we are all looking for and the peace that we deserve that only comes because of Christ. I can't comprehend all that He's done for me and the sufferings that he's had to go through, but what I do know now is that he loves me and he brings a lot of joy to my life every day.We ate with President and Sister Russell for dinner at their house with the Chinese sisters and the zone leaders. We sang I know that my redeemer lives and the spirit was so strong. He does live!I love you all and thank you for everything!
Love,
Sister Peterson
