Conference for Life!

Last week we had another lesson with L who was going to pray about being baptized, and so when we were teaching her she told us that she prayed and felt good about being baptized, but wasn't sure what she has to do to become a "Mormon". We told her that we will continue to work with her and teach her while she works towards a goal. We gave her the date May 21st and after much explanation that it's just a goal to work towards she accepted! So now we are working with her to have her baptized! I'm so excited for her because I can already see the joy learning about the gospel has brought in to her life, and when she is baptized it will bring her even more happiness! She came to church on Easter Sunday and brought her neighbor who we found out was a less active member! It's so cool to see all of the less actives we've been meeting and helping them realize why they were baptized in the first place and remember what the spirit feels like.

Monday we had a family home evening lesson with the S family. K and A made sister Sowter and me pictures. It was adorable! We taught them the gospel of Jesus Christ. Which is faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. We always have great lessons with them and I love hearing their testimonies.

President Russell came up for a special training meeting with us and another zone. We read the talk " becoming a preach my gospel missionary" it was so good! I think everyone needs to read it. But I really liked the section about practicing what you preach. We need to be the best example of what we are teaching the people around us. If we can't be a good example to them then we can't teach them and they won't progress.

Remember M? Well we had a lesson with him and K this week and we were able to teach them that our Heavenly Father loves them, and that the gospel blesses our families. M said that he felt the spirit so strong on Sunday and that he wants to be a part of this church and it was the most amazing experience because he has been so prepared for us to come and teach him. He said that he believes we have a modern day prophet and we were able to watch conference with him on Sunday where he took a lot of notes and really enjoyed it. During our lesson we asked him to be baptized and he accepted! We are going to continue teaching him this week and I love to see how he feels the spirit and how he is growing.

Ok so can I say how amazing general conference was this past weekend? Every talk was so inspired and so powerful. I loved how they talked a lot about seeing our worth in this life and knowing our love from Heavenly Father is real. He knows us each individually and loves us.

We went on exchanges this past week and I got to take over the area for the first time ever! It was super exciting and it helped me gain more confidence in my role as a missionary. I was nervous at first because I relied on my trainer to help me to know what I was doing, but I learned that I'm capable of doing missionary work! Haha it's a great thing to have come to the knowledge of and it made me realize that we all can do missionary work!

We met a woman who is an inspiration to me. She is in a hospital bed, and she is so positive even though she has a lot of trials in her life she sees the other and better side of things. She also is finding us so many people to talk to and teach and she is in a bed all day. It was amazing to meet her because the spirit is so strong in her small room. I love meeting people with that pure love in their hearts for everyone around them. She is an example to me. I just want everyone to remember to stay positive even in times of hardship. I know that's hard to do and easier to say, but it will make the situation a little better in the long run.

I hope everyone has a great week! I love you all

Love,
Sister Peterson

We went tracting in the Merlin area on a blitz, and sister Aguilar and I found a very nice welcome mat!
