It's transfer week and guess what? I'm staying in good old grants pass with sister Sowter :) prayer is real! We did so much service this week! It was amazing. We pulled some weeds and killed some spiders. We were helping a woman in our ward move, and I got to finally see a black widow up close and personal. And as you all know I love bugs and they love me so I had a blast. We got to do service also for a woman named M. She's not a member and she's so great. I talked about her before in my email saying that she bore her testimony on service without even knowing it. She's just so sweet and a really fun person to be around. She's so positive and who doesn't love being around positive people? She's just a really great person and I can't wait to teach her more.So K is so amazing! Three of her kids came to church on Sunday, and her daughter came to mutual on Wednesday. They are noticing their moms example, and wanting to know what the church is about for themselves. Be good examples! Sometimes that's all it takes! K's testimony blows me away every time she speaks. She knows that the church is true because she's been lead to it twice in her life. She knows that when it gets hard that's Satan trying to pull her away because he knows how powerful she is and that one day her entire family will be coming to church. The church is true!We taught M the word of wisdom on Tuesday. He is so great he was just listening, and he trusts what we are telling him is true. I can see in his eyes how much he wants this gospel for himself and he knows it'll change his life for the better. He was telling us about conference on Sunday and he really enjoyed the messages about families so we taught him that families are a blessing from God and we are to love and learn along side our family members. M told us that he had been reading from the Book of Mormon which everyone should because it's amazing. And one night he forgot it at his cousins house so he drove to her house just to get his book and went home and read it before bed! I told you he's amazing! Like who does that? He showed me the importance of the book and how we need to do everything it takes to feast upon the words in that book. I've been reading from the beginning and I've done that a lot before always starting over and over, but this time I'm really studying it and learning more about how those who wrote their experiences have similar situations to my own! The Book of Mormon was in fact written for us today. It might have been written by prophets so long ago that we think it doesn't pertain to us, but it does and the only way to find out that it is written for you is to read it! I promise reading it and studying from it and learning will help anyone who has that desire. I've seen it in too many people's lives including my own to deny that it helps and it is true. Many people died writing and protecting the Book of Mormon so we can have it today, and If it was so important that they give their lives the least we could do is read the book.Getting dropped by an investigator is like breaking up with your soulmate. It's so sad! And as you can tell by that we got dropped by S this week. She is so great and really has a testimony of the gospel, but her family is very important to her and she respects them a lot and they don't completely support her meeting with the missionaries. Her daughter who has been on a trip for a while came home a few days ago and is very anti Mormon, so S's husband decided it's probably best if she doesn't meet with us until the fall. And don't get me wrong her family is amazing and really sweet it's just sad because we know how strong her testimony was becoming. But we also know that one day she will be baptized. We saw big foot! Ok we saw a statue of Bigfoot, but that's close enough. We were doing service at the bear hotel and they have statues of bears that have been designed I think by people in the area, and some of those are around town! It was so cool! They had a Bigfoot statue then this guy came and scared one of our missionaries half to death. It was great. But the hunt for him is still on!On fast Sunday we got out of church and the ice cream man was parked outside the building handing out ice cream. Of all days it had to be a fast Sunday! Then Sister Sowter and I decided to go on a Sunday walk to get to know our area better, and we were talking to this guy and heard the ice cream man coming up the street getting closer and closer. Then when we left and started walking down another street the ice cream man was right there! We were pretty certain he was following us around cause he knew we were fasting! But we got away from him don't worry, and we didn't even buy any ice cream! It was pure evil. But we got to break the fast that night with some amazing families in our ward and Michael got to come too!I hope that everyone has a great week! And remember to stay positive and be that light and example to those around you. Many people look up to you every day and will act how you act. I think it's Important to have a positive attitude because then those around you will most likely be more happy. I was talking about that with Sister Sowter this past week. Those around us effect our moods so if one missionary is in a bad mood then it spreads. So we try to stay as positive as we can to uplift others and it also helps us have a better outlook on things. I know for a fact that life gets hard, and keeping your head held high is difficult, so surround yourself with positive people and I know your load will become lighter.I love and pray for all of you!Love,Sister Peterson️
